Features of The Ultimo
Each Ultimo Rug is made with the same exacting features and fittings that include:
Quality Trojan Duraproofed 12oz or 18oz Ripstop Blue Tartan Canvas.
With a dart inserted at the shoulder and hip to provide a shaped contour to fit your horse.
Suitable for most shapes of ponies and horses.
Double riveted leg straps and back dees.
A genuine New Zealand sheepskin pad protects the wither.
Leg straps are manufactured from heavy buffalo leather.
All leg strap fittings are buffalo leather and doubled riveted for added safety.
4 dee attachments for neck cover for easy attachment of the Ultimo neck cover.
The Ultimo Lined Rug
This is our 18oz winter rug manufactured using Trojan Duraproofed 18oz - a hardwearing waterproof canvas.
Either thermal, cotton, jute, wool or polypropylene lined with a regular canvas drop of 1m and all of the above features.
The Ultimo Sheet
The Ultimo Sheet is unlined, and is available in 2 weights with a regular canvas drop of 1m and all of the above features.
- Trojan Duraproofed 12oz for a lightweight waterproof summer sheet.
- Trojan Duraproofed 18oz as a heavier and more hardwearing waterproof sheet.

Ultimo Neck Covers
All Ultimo Neck Covers are manufactured in Trojan Duraproofed 18oz or 12oz Blue Tartan
(depending on the cover it is to match) and feature;
A central taffetta strip to prevent the mane from rubbing
PVC Stiffening along either side of the neck to stop slippage
Snap lock clips which are easily fastened on the neckstraps.
A double back velcro system to connect the neck cover to the cover "D" rings which ensures they are easily interchanged
between all Matamata Saddlery Rugs.
Available in two sizes:
The Ultimo Standard Neck Cover is the basic design neck cover providing protection for the neck. Available unlined or with a polypropylene lining.

The Ultimo Wrap Neck Cover is a deeper shape that contours around the neck.
